The 55th Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca by FERGUS Hotels launches at ITB Berlin, the world's largest tourism fair. Set for 27 March to 4 April in Palma, the event attracts global attention in Olympic sailing. Since 1968, the Sofia Trophy has become a vital fixture in the sailing circuit, paralleling ITB Berlin’s rise as a tourism powerhouse.

Attendees include Balearic Islands Tourism Minister Jaume Bauzá, Mallorca Council Tourism Minister Guillem Ginard, and event director Ferran Muniesa, who emphasize the trophy's economic impact. "Thousands of sailors and support teams generate significant economic activity on the island," states Muniesa.

With one month to go, 845 teams from 56 countries are already registered. Muniesa underscores the importance of institutional support and local businesses like FERGUS Hotels in sustaining the event’s growth and prestige. Each participant stands as an ambassador for Mallorca, promoting the island’s rich sailing culture.
