The FIA and the ACO have laid the groundwork for the future of endurance racing: starting from the 2030 season, a unified technical regulation will apply in the Hypercar class. This decision marks the end of the convergence era between the LMH and LMDh regulations. Months of negotiations have led to a set of rules designed to satisfy all parties involved. A key element is the visual identity of the vehicles, which must be completely redesigned by 2030 to showcase more brand identity. The granted homologation is binding for at least five years, without an Evo joker. Technically, from 2030, all-wheel drive will be eliminated; all vehicles will rely on rear-wheel drive. The minimum weight will increase to over 1,040 kilograms. Manufacturers have the freedom to develop their own monocoques or rely on established constructors. The choice between proprietary systems and standardized solutions remains for hybrid drive as well. System power will be increased by around 20 kilowatts, while aerodynamics will be more strictly regulated. A new regulation for hydrogen prototypes has also been adopted, enabling the use of this technology in the future.
