Lando Norris gets behind the wheel of a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 car in Sweden, leading up to the Australian Grand Prix. The McLaren driver participates in a Monster Energy event, testing various rally and drifting cars on a frozen lake. Oliver Solberg, 2026 Monte Carlo Rally winner, guides Norris through the experience, having claimed the WRC2 title in the same car last year. Norris, an admirer of rallying, relishes the challenge, saying, “I’m learning. It is a different style of driving.” Solberg acknowledges a few off-road moments, stating, “You need to try the limits.” Petter Solberg, 2003 World Rally champion, praises Norris’s performance, noting, “I was very impressed… at the end now he is pushing properly.” Norris joins fellow F1 drivers Max Verstappen and Lance Stroll, who also recently tested rally cars.
