Jordi Xammar and Marta Cardona dominate Day 4 of the French Olympic Week, solidifying their lead in the 470 class. This performance highlights their exceptional sailing skills and sets the stage for an intense finish to the event.
The Spanish duo finished the day with a 3rd and a 1st place, extending their lead to a 10-point cushion over second-place British sailors Martin Wrigley and Bettine Harris. Wrigley noted the challenging but fun conditions, with lighter winds than the previous day, while Harris echoed the excitement of racing in tricky, shifty winds.
French crew Matisse Pacaud and Lucie de Gennes excelled, securing two second-place finishes, positioning themselves just two points behind the British team and two points ahead of compatriots Manon Pennaneac'h and Pierre Williot.
Swiss sailors Yves Marmod and Maja Siegenthaler, making a comeback after the Olympics, consistently ranked in the top ten. Marmod expressed satisfaction with their progress, aiming for a strong finish and a spot in the medal race this Saturday.
In the silver fleet, German team Simon Diesch and Anna Markfort remain in the lead despite underperforming compared to last year’s success. As the competition heats up, all eyes are on the medal race.
