The BPI Subic Regatta concludes with a dramatic finish that reshapes the leaderboard. This final day reveals the intense competition and strategic moves that define the series.

As the breeze kicked in late, boats like Raw Honey and Selma Star faced pivotal moments. Raw Honey initially aimed for a strong start but faltered, losing a protest to Belatrix and incurring a 10% time penalty that dropped her from first to last place in that race. Meanwhile, Selma Star, despite finishing last on the water, clinched victory on corrected time.

In the Cruiser and Multihull divisions, Papaya and Estelita del Mar secured their spots at the top. The regatta’s finale featured a dramatic extended course, showcasing the breathtaking backdrop of the Cinco Picos hills. Belatrix raced ahead but ultimately fell short, leaving Raw Honey to finish fourth and win the regatta on points, just ahead of Belatrix.

James Villareal expressed the stress of defending against multiple protests, highlighting the tension of the final races. The celebrations at The Lighthouse honored the winners: Estelita del Mar in Multihull, Papaya in Cruisers, and Raw Honey in IRC Racing class. This regatta not only tests skill but also builds camaraderie among competitors.
